Total Surveys have considerable experience of carrying out
topographical surveys. From the data surveyed, a
3D ground model can be created, together with contoured plans.
A good example of this of this type of work is Golf Course Surveys; where the
topography of the land can be created as a 3D computer model.
Total Surveys recently carried out the topographical survey of a number of overseas golf courses, using
GPS equipment.
The surveyors paced across the greens and took recordings at specified intervals to create a grid of levels across each golf course.
The 3D data produced was provided to the client who utilised the information to create Virtual Tours of each golf course, for use as course guides for the European Golf Tour 2008.
This is an example of providing a survey record of existing golf courses, but we are also able to help if you are planning to design a new golf course or associated facilities. We can carry out a range of survey tasks to assist in this process; including the initial topographical site survey, volume calculations, and setting-out work. Further information on our range of services is available
here. Where we can assist throughout the construction process is summarised
here.
We can also create perspective views &
site visualisations by utilising survey data & design information.
If you have a potential survey requirement for an existing or proposed golf course or leisure complex, please
contact us, and we shall be pleased to advise further.
