About Total Surveys Ltd
Total Surveys Limited was founded in 1991, and provide a
full range of land and engineering surveying services throughout the UK, and overseas. The company is based on the outskirts of Redditch in the Midlands [
Location Plan]; so is centrally placed for good access throughout the country.
Typical projects include
topographical surveys for estate developers,
hydrographic surveys for Environment Agency regions & consulting engineers,
building floor plan and elevation surveys for architectural practices & Local Authorities, and
GPS surveys for major construction projects.
For information regarding the full range of services available, please visit our
Services Home Page.
Note: There is sometimes confusion when people refer to a “surveyor”; Total Surveys are Land & Engineering Surveyors, and should not be confused with Structural Surveyors or Quantity Surveyors. We carry out building surveys; but these are building measurement surveys and not building structural surveys or homebuyer surveys.
Total Surveys are
Environment Agency (EA) approved surveyors. In addition to this, we have surveyors who have been specifically approved and authorised to carry out
GPS work for the EA regions.
The company is a member of
The UK Land & Hydrographic Survey Association (TSA). Other corporate memberships include
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the
Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
Total Surveys have staff with affiliate membership of the
Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

We have
dedicated teams of surveyors, many of whom have been with the company for
many years. In addition to qualifications, our surveyors have gained valuable,
practical experience over the years which can prove to be of
great benefit to the client. For example, if a surveyor is carrying out a survey, and he/she sees a feature on or near the site that was not part of the survey brief (but the surveyor considers may have an impact on the client’s design), then this could be identified whilst on site, to give a more complete and useful survey. Our staff take pride in their work, and are committed to providing the best possible service to our clients.
The company utilises
the latest technology to be as effective as possible.
We have a broad range of clients, some of who we have worked with for many years. People often comment on the
high standard and quality of our drawings.
When we are commissioned to carry out a survey, we feel it is very important to understand the client’s requirements, and also the purpose for which the survey drawings are intended.
Armed with this information, we are able to tailor our service to provide the best, most cost-efficient option; for example, there is probably no need to survey in fine detail, an area that is due to be demolished / cleared. If a high level of detail is not required, basic key points only could be surveyed within the area, which would save time and therefore cost for the client.
If you have an enquiry regarding a potential survey requirement, we will be very pleased to discuss this with you, and offer advice if needed. Once we have established your requirements, we will be pleased to provide a
detailed quotation for approval.
